Stepping into the world of spray tans can feel overwhelming, especially if it’s your first time. Whether preparing for a wedding, a vacation, or simply wanting a sun-kissed glow without exposing your skin to damaging UV rays, knowing what to expect can help you feel more confident.
The Pre-Tan Prep
Before your scheduled appointment, take a moment to prep your skin. Start with exfoliating your body a day before the tanning session. A good exfoliation session helps to remove dead skin cells. Use a gentle scrub or an exfoliating mitt, focusing on dry areas like elbows and knees, which tend to absorb more color.
Additionally, steer clear of lotions, perfumes, and deodorants on the day of your appointment. These products can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution, leading to uneven application. Aim to come to your appointment with clean, dry skin. Proper prep can boost your tan's longevity by as much as 50%.
Choosing the Right Shade
Selecting the right shade is crucial for achieving a natural appearance. When you book your appointment, consult with the technician about which shade will best complement your skin tone. We offer various hues, ranging from light to deep bronze. For example, if your natural skin tone is fair, consider a medium shade to avoid looking overly dark.

Post-Tan Care
Following your spray tan, proper care is critical to maintaining your newfound glow. It’s best to avoid showering, swimming, or sweating for a minimum of 6 to 8 hours post-application unless you've been sprayed with the Rapid so wash off time is between 2-4 hours.. This waiting period allows the tanning solution to develop fully. When you do shower, use lukewarm water and just let the bronzer wash off. Your second shower you can use soap and shampoo your hair please stay away from Dove Soap.
Daily moisturizing is essential as well. Look for lotions designed for tanned skin, as they can extend the life of your tan by up to 30%. By keeping your skin hydrated, you can ensure your tan fades evenly without patchiness.
